Flavia Pitis was born in 1978 in Brasov, Romania. She lives and works in Brasov.
She graduated from Nicolae Grigorescu School of Fine Arts in Bucharest in 2002.
In 2004 she obtained a research grant in Florence.
In 2016, she received the Celeste Prize in painting category.
She is represented in France by Valérie Delaunay gallery.
She has participated in many fairs in France such as Drawing Now, YIA, and in 2020 at Salon Galeriste. Her works are included in several private collections including Fondation Estelle and Hervé Francès in France.
In 2017, Flavia Pitis participated in the exhibition L’Écho des murmures at Valérie Delaunay gallery which brought together the young Romanian art scene in which participated in particular Radu Belcin, Teodora Axente and Bogdan Vladuta.
During the France-Romania cultural season in 2018, she participated in the exhibition Lux, une énergie roumaine at headquarters of Société Générale, exhibition curated by Valérie Delaunay and Foundation Estelle and Hervé Francès.
Her work is also exhibited in international shows. In 2018, curator Lorand Hegly invited her at the exhibition Disturbing Narratives at the Parkview Museum in Singapore. In 2019, she participates in Berlin at the exhibition Preparing for Darkness curated by the art critic Uwe Goldenstein bringing together the works of artists from the Romanian art scene as Adrian Ghenie. The catalog of this exhibition will be published in 2021.
